Travel to the Central Jakarta's Old Town - Old Batavia (Oud Batavia)

Let us consider one of the implementation of the Tourism education organized by SDN Mount 01 - South Jakarta

On September 27, 2014, sixth grade students of SDN Gunung 01 Pagi located in South Jakarta Jalan Kerinci hold events in Tourism Education initiated by the class teacher and the parents of sixth grade, this event besides sponsored by parents and also sponsored by the Bank via e-Money card Mandiri her. And the show is of course also supported by the Principal of SDN Gunung 01 Pagi.

Educational travel plan this time is to visit one of the historic heritage in Central Jakarta. The place is called the old city. The place is one of the historic heritage of the Dutch in Indonesia. At that time Old City was called the Old Batavia Jakarta (Oud Batavia). Places to be visited in the old city is the Puppet Museum, Garden Fatahilah (Fatahilah Museum), the Museum of Ceramics and Fine Art Museum.

Transportation that will be used to visit to the old city is the Bus Trans Jakarta. And to travel with the Trans Jakarta they can use Mandiri e-Money card as means of payment and can enter into the Trans Jakarta bus fleet. To be able to use the Bus Trans Jakarta, from school they went to the Bus Terminal Blok M in South Jakarta.
Before leaving the school they get a briefing from representatives of the Bank on the use of e-Money Mandiri. After that, all of the participants shared Mandiri e-Money card that will be used to enter the Bus Trans Jakarta. And then after followed the direction from the Principal SDN Gunung 01 Pagi, they went to the Terminal Bus Blok M Mall.

After arriving at the bus terminal Blok M Mall, they directed by the teachers to go into a queue in a Bus Trans Jakarta Corridor. then they immediately go to entry the Bus Trans Jakarta. They used Bus Trans Jakarta from Terminal Bus Blok M Mall to Kota. Having reached the last stop is in front of Railway Station Kota, they went off the Bus Trans Jakarta and walked towards to Old City. Travel by walking  from Bus Stop Trans Jakarta Old City is about 15 minutes.

Having arrived in the Old City they do a group photo in front of the Museum Fatahilah followed by the photos each respective groups. In the middle of the Old Town there are some activities undertaken by artists that had a role as a statue. And also there are Bicycle special for rent to visitors who are in the Old City, and visitors can bike around the Old City for 15 - 30 minutes.

Puppet Museum: Located in Batavia Church Building.
Consists of two types of puppets, the first and the second shadow of puppet. Shadow puppets consist of all the world's puppets like the story from Bharatayuda and Mahabharata and also puppet which specially made look a like a doll like Unyil Dolls, and Dolls og figure in the history of Indonesia. They created specially according to the group and its story or history.

Museum Fatahilah (Fatahilah Garden): Formerly used as Batavia City Hall. This place is also known as the Jakarta History Museum or the Museum of Batavia, here can be seen at the historic relics when Jakarta was named Batavia. In addition, the Pre Historical relics stored until the current collection. That relic from 17 th to 19 th century.

Fine Art and Ceramic Museum: Located in Batavia Court House, an old building which was established in 1870. In the Fine Arts Museum are paintings by famous artists from the 1800s to the present. and The Museum of Ceramics there are 13,000 pieces of ceramic. The whole of this ceramic is a historic relic, which is stored in accordance with the year of manufacture and also the story of the history of ceramics. One is Totem Asmat.
